Eric has been in the field of psychotherapy and organizational psychology since 1993.  During this time he co-founded Denville Family Counseling, where he currently practices individual, marital and family therapy.  He also worked in several behavioral healthcare settings with various types of clients, including multiple forms of addiction.  Previously, Eric was part of a large financial services firm for 10 years.  While there he worked as a psychological consultant to the organization and as a financial analyst.

Eric received a Master of Social Work degree and graduated with honors from Marywood University .  He has participated in extensive post-graduate training in marital and family therapy at the Relational Life Institute in Boston , and the Ackerman Institute in New York City .  He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics & Finance from the University of Scranton .  Eric is a New Jersey Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor.   He is a graduate faculty member in the MSW program at Rutgers University .  He also is a consulting therapist to the FBI and a member of their crisis response team.  During 2007 and 2008, Eric presented widely to therapists throughout New Jersey on the subject of Male Intimacy and Emotional Connection, a subject for which he has great passion.

Through his diverse experiences in psychotherapy and business, Eric has developed a style of treatment that is compassionate and gentle, while remaining pragmatic and solution oriented.  He believes that individuals are capable of maximizing their inner potential when they are provided with the necessary tools.  He views his role as a guide or an aide to his clients as they experience their journey in becoming more fully whole.  Eric believes that the process of psychotherapy has the potential to provide his clients with tremendous emotional connectedness, both within themselves and with their fellow persons.

There are several areas that Eric assists his clients in addressing; below are some of them:

● Anger Management

● Male Intimacy

● Alcohol/Drug Addictions

● Marital Therapy

● Anxiety/Phobias

● Recovery Coaching

● Attention/Focus Issues

● Sexual Addiction

On a personal note, Eric loves parenting his two boys with his wonderful wife of 17 years, Debby.  He enjoys running half-marathons and holds a brown belt in judo.  Eric is an avid hiker and likes skiing in the winter.  Eric supports his church through his work at Denville Family Counseling and is a recent board member of Mrs. Wilson’s (a local half way house for recovering women).  Eric’s favorite movie is Rocky I.
